Where Can I Improve?
- Type A Brain- I am a very detailed and organized person who likes lists. I have a hard time moving onto one task, before completing the first one, as I like to go in order. However, I do believe this reflects in my persoanlity and personal life, more than in the classroom. As a teacher, I am committed to stepping out of my comfort zone to plan for lessons that are not conducted in a "type A" way. Doing so will created an engaging classroom atmosphers, and provide the most potential for all my learners; because as always, it is always about the students, and their interests, needs, and success.
- Limited Familiarity with the Curriculum- as a new teacher in the profession, I have a lack of experience working with the curriculum. I understand this a very important part of the job, and as such, I am dedicated to learning more about it as my time as a teacher elapses; including throughout my student teaching placement opportunities. I am devoted to being a life-long learner, and therefore, I will always be learning new outcomes in the areas the profession may lead me.
- Conflict- although I have a great deal of experience in a leadership role, and have had to resolve conflict with staff members and parents before, it is an area of growth for me. I don't enjoy conflict in any form, and I don't necessarily know how to approach the situation all the time. Futhermore, I never want to make the wrong call/decision. However, I am a confident person who always uses logic in every circumstance that may arise. As such, I will maintain the mindset that with every experience, I am going to gain problem solving strategies that I can take with me, and use in the future.
